Below you will see the current leaderboard for all logged activities in our 48 Mile Birthday Challenge. If you have logged miles from a hike, bike, or paddle, those miles will show up directly as you have entered them.

For Trail Maintenance, you may be wondering why your hours of work shows as something more than you have entered.

In the 48-Mile Challenge, volunteer time is converted into “miles” so that Visually your trail work counts alongside hiking, biking, or paddling. We use a standard multiplier:

1 hour of trail work = 3.2 miles

So when you logged 2 hours, the math is: 2 hours × 3.2 miles/hour = 6.4 miles

You didn’t suddenly hike 6.4 miles  — this is just the way we make sure volunteer effort gets equal Visual recognition in the challenge.

The Leaderboard will automatically update every few minutes, so check back often to see where you are in the standings!

*The Leaderboard is purely to see a visual representation of what you have accomplished in the Birthday Challenge. While your entries are logged in our system, we don’t actively keep track of what you are accomplishing. That is up to you! If you can’t remember exactly how you have progressed in the challenge, feel free to reach out and we can look it up for you. If you complete the challenge and want to be entered in the drawing at the end of the month, you MUST fill out the completion form. Again, we aren’t keep track and you won’t automatically be entered.
