We  will meet 9AM at Penny’s Bend at the corner of Old Oxford Road and Snow Hill Road in Durham and work on MST repairs upriver of Penny’s Bend.

There are several necessary trail repairs, most of which predate the flooding this summer. These will involve digging, moving rocks and soil, diverting water off the trail, removing trip rocks, and other basic trail maintenance tasks.

We will also be working on removing invasive privet. Some are small and can be hand pulled, but there are also some large privet that will need to be cut.

We also want to remove trash from the “wild portion of the Eno River” where the trail moves away from the river. This will be removing “dry foot” trash from along the riverbanks. Lots of plastic out there after the flooding.

I will unfortunately be out of town, so Bill Boyarsky and Steve Sherman will be running the workday.
